MENS HUMANA AWARD

Celebrating the Intersection of Art and Psychology

Welcome to the inaugural MENS HUMANA AWARD, the first global award dedicated to contemporary art that delves into the profound depths of the human condition. This groundbreaking initiative invites artists worldwide to explore the intricate tapestry of human emotions and experiences through their art.

Thematic Focus

Artworks Reflecting on the Human Condition
Art has the unparalleled ability to capture the spectrum of human emotions—from love, joy, and hope to fear, anguish, and despair. Through vibrant colors, evocative imagery, and striking symbolism, this award seeks to honor works that resonate deeply with the shared essence of humanity.

Inspiration can be drawn from masterpieces such as René Magritte's "The Human Condition" and "The Son of Man", as well as Edvard Munch's iconic "The Scream", which poignantly mirror the complexities of human existence.

Rene Magritte juxtaposed a highly realistic style and unexpected imagery to evoke the subconscious and question the experience of time and space. Of his Human Condition series, he wrote that he wanted to place the viewer “inside the room in the picture and, at the same time, conceptually outside in the real landscape.”

Edvard Munch is the artist behind one of the most well known paintings in the world; The Scream. He was influenced by Sigmund Freud, depression and his episodes of anxiety. In his work, he depicted loneliness, death and terror.
